Don't need a gun...

... even though that is Wynberg.
Actually, I just wanted to quote Billy Idol.
Motorbikes and rocks.
The latter,
taking on a rather different meaning around these parts.

The photograph is drenched in irony.
The streets are raw.
Please believe, they'll eat you up alive.
Rather stay on clean tiled floors,
and velvet sheets.
Unless of course,
you want to live.
I mean,
really,
live.

"A human heart goes out tonight.
Yes a red hot love, on a red stop light.
I see a scene so cold, it echoes in blue.
Oh those twisting tongues, they are after you.
Of what a story dreams to buy.
Don't need a knife, to violate my life.
It's all so insane.
Yes and me,
I'm movin', movin', movin', movin' on.
Yeah to be someone.
I don't need a gun."

- Billy Idol

Chaos theory, much...

I've been searching,
for a while now.
Inspiration.

Best stage show went to At The Drive In (video below),
Went, being past tense.
I'm still debating.

Then, the Dillinger Escape Plan (below) appeared,
and blew my mind...
In terms of stage show.
Musically, that's another story.

I'm torn.
This was a blog post.

The day we lost...

Yeah, it's true.
Early morning wake up call,
from a cellphone far too cheap,
and far too loud.
Waging war against the frozen sunrise.
No advantage with shortsleeved shirts.
The pun of course...

Highschool rugby, brought back memories.
Nephew played well, but it's a team game, ya know,
and that's all I'm really saying about the match.
Refer to title for further details.

The coffee was good.
Canteen mothers, grabbing money,
wearing ten ton pearls.
Shackles.
High pitched voices,
strange (BMW) accents,
mispronounced words.

Three sugars.
Thanks so much.

Cheers

'All the words...

...we've said, have arrowheads tonight.'

- YS!MM

(Or at least, that's how I think it goes.)

Run off my feet, by an 18-wheeler,
known as (endless) editing.
Square eyes of burning coal.
Cold hands (warm heart?).
Numbers, and letters, and *click-click*.

No headache, yet.
(touch wood... ah, a keyboard will do)

So much to print,
so much to frame.
You see that clock?
That's who to blame.

Cheers

(Edit: Yes. Those are the right lyrics. Bam. Don't mess)

Truth in the thunder

"I'm something like stormy weather.
If I weren't, we would never huddle together.
Do I have to tell you, that I'm also the sunlight that shines shortly after?
I just rain 'cause I have to, on to a new chapter."

- Gnarls Barkley

Speaking of the truth.
It hurts...
nearly as much as a healing tattoo,
although,
that's more of a blend between immensely irritating and painful.
Don't let that put you off, ever.

Hearts of glass,
and words of stone.
We're bad to the bone.
Yeah, trigger finger of glory,
and tungsten staircases.
You'll know it, when you see it.
When you feel it on your legs,
on your pulse.
Fall back.
Wake up.
Let's go.

Cheers

"Went downstairs...

... past the barber and gymnasium,
and got our arms tattooed."

- The Who (Tattoo)

Man, that song kicked it all off for me,
a couple of years ago.
Now, a monthly visit to the tattoo parlor,
is just natural.
It's inevitable, an ongoing process.
Routine, fixation, obsession...
Akin to breathing, or walking.
I'm sure you get the point.

Now, I've got to mention a few awesome people.
('Got to' is the wrong phrase - 'want to', is more appropriate.)
Legends, through and through.

Tattoo done by Clinton, at Primal Culture Tattoo Studio.
Wynberg, Cape Town: 021 811 8282
Grassy Park, Cape Town: 021 706 0930

Patrick Rutter, a great friend, and body piercer.
(Who also took photos of me, while I was being loved by a needle.)

If you're in Cape Town, and want to get pierced / tattooed,
now you know.
See, I'm your friendly neighbour.
What? Sugar, you say...

Cheers

Davey Havok...

See, now if that name isn't familiar to you,
then (unfortunately) this post isn't going to make that much sense.
I am, however, hoping that atleast one person will know who this is.
For those who don't know who Davey Havok is,
well, just scroll down, look at the photo (which,by the way, has NOTHING to do with Mr Havok),

and leave me a lovely comment, of sorts.

Straight Edge, check.
Frontman for
AFI, check.
Full sleaves, (and
the best back-piece ever), check.
etc etc

I love Davey Havok.
No, really.

Now, you do too.

Cheers
